Like every decent programmer, I tried to have an online blog.

I started with a cheap hosted VPS, and wordpress. And that’s when the trouble started.

Having a cheap VPS means you don’t know when your server goes offline, and stays offline until you restart everything. That, and having to constantly update your server, so it doesn’t get hacked.

Finally, I decided, seeing that only bots visit my blog, to move to a statically generated site, and see how it fares.

Hopefully, it’s a lot less maintenance.
